Education

Teaching & Learning

It has been my experience that there is both an art and science to teaching.  The science is knowing the content of what you are to teach and how you are to teach it.  The art is being creative in how you set the atmosphere for learning so that students are intrigued enough to become engrossed in the learning process. Unfortunately, in society’s push for accountability through testing, the art of teaching has been pushed aside and almost lost. The good news, however, is that I have found a spark of hope over the last couple of weeks that things may be changing for the better.  So, in the next weeks I will post my thoughts, experiences, and eventually my research about the education of our children.
